Det er tohovudspørsmål: Kva kan ein maksimalt betale for leige av mjølkekvote før kjøttproduksjon påammeku er like lønsamt som utviding av mjølkeproduksjon på leigd mjølkekvote? Er sal avfôringskalv like lønsamt som framfôring av alle kalvar? Rapporten viser korleis svaret på dessespørsmåla varierer med føresetnadene og dermed vilkåra for å drive produksjon.The purpose of this report was to compare profitability of some production systems for dairy andbeef production. The analysis is restricted to three Norwegian counties: Oslo, Akershus, andHedmark. There were two main research questions: What is the maximum price that can profitablybe paid for leased milk quotas? Is it more profitable to sell young calves than to rear them andslaughter them as mature animals? The report shows how the answer to these questions varies withthe applied assumptions and thus the conditions under which production takes place.
